GDT Employee Spotlight: Ricardo Brown

We are excited to shine a spotlight on one of our dedicated team members, Ricardo, who is an integral part of our Sales Support team. As a Senior Sales Support Specialist, Ricardo plays a crucial role in both our team and the sales team, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional support.

How long have you been with GDT, and what does your role entail?


Ricardo:  I have been with GDT for 3 years, and I am a Senior Sales Support Specialist. My role includes handling quotes, order processing, vendor coordination, and working with customers on upcoming projects alongside Account Managers. I help train new Sales Support specialists and make sure they are good to go in their new roles.

Can you describe your team, their role, and their dynamics?


Ricardo:  The Northeast team is full of superstars! We work so well together, and everyone goes above and beyond to get the job done. If we see a team member who is stressed or feeling overwhelmed, it’s just a matter of time before someone sends a message to see how they can help. 

Regarding the team and their role, we create quotes, process orders, work on configurations, and manage reports. I feel like we do a little bit of everything! Everybody is dynamic and great.

What has been your most memorable project or achievement here?


Ricardo: I started a knowledge transfer here at GDT for the team. That way, if someone knows it, everyone has it. I think that is an awesome accomplishment for our team.

Is there anything specific you are looking forward to in 2025 for your team’s goals & initiatives?


Ricardo: The team and I are looking forward to learning new skills, becoming more self-sufficient when it comes to smaller hardware configurations, and just learning new things to help us excel in our professional lives.

How do you stay motivated and continue to grow professionally?


Ricardo:  I am motivated by the opportunity to learn new things, grow, experience new challenges, and expand my skill set. I’m motivated by staying focused, challenging myself, and executing whatever is in front of me as well as I can.

Who or what inspires you in your career?


Ricardo: I am inspired by the professional relationships that I make. It’s exciting to see areas of the business and how they execute to get things done. Also, it is nice to see how I work on something or someone else works on something and we get the same results. It is nice to see the different thought processes to get things done.

What aspects of our organizational vision, mission, or values resonate with you?


Ricardo: Our collaboration resonates with me. I am a big team player, and I think you have to make a collective effort to get things done. Like I said, if one of us on the team has a lot going on, we come together to help one another out, which is really important for me.

What advice would you give to someone new to the company?


Ricardo:  I would tell them to learn as much as they can and ask questions. Everyone here is more than willing to help. Even if they don’t know, they will find whoever has the right answer.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?


Ricardo: My number one place to go one day is Bora Bora! I can see myself in one of those villas, cocktail in hand, watching the blue water go by. Bali is another place on my list that I am going to in June.

Tell us more about yourself outside of work. What are your hobbies and interests?


Ricardo:  Outside of work, I love spending time with my dog! His name is Billy, and I love hanging with him. He is a Yorkie and Chihuahua mix, and he is about 7 lbs. I love hanging out with him; he thinks he’s a human being!  I also love to gather with friends and try new foods and wine!
