GDT Webinar Series – How to Fail at Security? Reserve Your Spot

Employee Spotlight – Jeanne Malone

Welcome to the GDT employee spotlight for December! Each month we select an individual from our team and ask them a few questions to get to know them better. This month, GDT Marketing Specialist Marissa Gaudet sat down with Jeanne Malone, our VP of Cybersecurity.

Marissa: Hi Jeanne, welcome to our December Employee Spotlight. Thanks for joining us! To start off, how long have you been with GDT, and what does your role involve?

Jeanne: I will be with GDT for two years in January. As the lead for Security nationwide, I develop security strategies and sales plays, work with clients to provide security solutions, educate partners & align accounts to help build our business and brand, work with our Marketing and Sales teams to help develop new solutions, and more.

Marissa: You have a lot on your plate! What would you say is your favorite part about your job?

Jeanne: My favorite part of my job would be helping clients solve business and security problems, developing the security business growth, leading, and working with my team, & continually learning about security and compliance.

Marissa: Before starting at GDT, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

Jeanne: Cambridge Technology Partners – selling strategic services to custom build mission critical applications for financial trading systems, insurance claim systems, and many more that were strategic for the clients in the top fortune 50.

Marissa: Next question is, if you could do anything for a job or career, what would it be?

Jeanne:  Nothing! I’m excited to be in this position since it lines up with my security, advisory, PS/MS services and start-up experiences.

Marissa: We are glad you love it at GDT. What’s a fun fact about you that most people may not know?

Jeanne: There are a couple of things like I am Certified 400 hours in Vinyasa Yoga & got my motorcycle license over the summer.

Marissa: That’s amazing! It would be fun to have you teach a yoga class one day! My next question is, where would you say is your favorite place to be or travel to?

Jeanne: Anywhere with mountains to ski and snowshoe.

Marissa: I‘ve never been snowshoeing but I love the snow. Tell me, do you have a motto or personal mantra that you live by?

Jeanne: Go for it.  Wake up, kick butt, be kind, and in a negative situation – Pick yourself up, brush yourself off, and start all over again.  This soon will pass.

Marissa: Is there any advice you would give the younger you?

Jeanne: Be your authentic self (be yourself), Rome wasn’t built in a day, humility goes a long way.

Marissa: I need to take that advice too. Ok, if you could meet anyone in the world, past or present, who would it be?

Jeanne: If I could meet anyone, it would probably be Eleanor Roosevelt.

Marissa: Wouldn’t that me amazing? Is there anything you are currently loving and want to share? This can be a podcast, book, tv show, music, activity, anything!

Jeanne: I’m currently loving a book recommended to me – The Five Dysfunctions of a Team.

Some of my favorite things are playing the piano, reading, staying active – cycling, skiing, weight training, golfing, yoga, paddle boarding and kayaking, and continuing to develop my leadership skills.

Marissa:  Thanks, Jeanne, for taking the time to answer my questions! It was great speaking with you.
