Employee Spotlight – Brandon McFrazier

Employee spotlight - Brandon

Welcome to the GDT Employee Spotlight! Every month we select a GDT Employee that stands out amongst their peers and ask them a few fun questions so our readers can learn more about the individuals that make up our incredible team. This month, GDT Marketing Specialist, Marissa Gaudet, interviewed Brandon McFrazier, Service Delivery Manager – Staging.

Marissa: Hello Brandon! Thanks for taking the time to chat with me.  We love having the chance to meet with some of our employees and get to know them better!  As an opener, how long have you been with GDT and what does your role entail?

Brandon: I’ve been here for 7 years and I’m the Service Delivery Manager for Staging at GDT. My job entails managing customer projects that need to be serviced in Staging and maintaining the lab environment.

Marissa: It is great to hear you have been with the company so long! I hope there are many more years to come. What would you say is your favorite part about your job?

Brandon: My job keeps me on my toes in that, the projects that we work on in Staging are diverse and require a unique focus and skillset.

Marissa: That’s great! I bet there is a wide variety of skills you learn in your position.  My next question is, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had before starting at GDT?

Brandon: I spent 20 years in the Air Force, and for 16 years I  was an aircraft weapons loader.  The other 4 years was spent as a Military Training Instructor…aka Drill Sergeant.

Marissa: Thank you for your service! I would love to hear more about your time in the USAF.  Tell me, if you could choose anything as another job or career, what would it be?

Brandon: Interesting question.  I love the job that I have now and haven’t given much thought about doing anything else yet.

Marissa: I’m always happy to hear that a person loves what they do. It helps a lot to like your job! Ok, my next question is what is a fun fact about you that most people may not know?

Brandon: I’m a diehard OU Sooners fan!

Marissa: Uh oh we are college football rivals! That’s ok, though. We’re all family at GDT. What about traveling?  Do you have a favorite place or destination?

Brandon: My favorite place to visit so far has been Cancun and have a future trip planned to Hawaii!

Marissa: I’ve never been to Cancun, but Hawaii is amazing! You will have to tell us how your trip is.  My next question is what is a motto or personal mantra that you live by?

Brandon: No Excuses! Just get it done no matter what.

Marissa: Great motto to live by. In addition, what advice would you give your younger self?

Brandon: Don’t waste any time.  Live life to the fullest and take advantage of all your opportunities while you can.

Marissa: That is excellent advice! If only we could go back in time. My next question is if you could meet anyone in the world, past or present, who would it be?

Brandon: I would love to have met Muhammad Ali.

Marissa: He would be so cool to meet and talk to.  Finally, is there anything you are currently loving that you want to share with us like a book or activity?  It can be anything!

Brandon: I love following OU football and I love to grill.

Marissa: So, steaks at your place? Just kidding. Thank you, Brandon! I enjoyed talking with you and getting to know you a little better.

We hope you enjoyed this month’s spotlight! Come back next month to learn more about another amazing member of our GDT team. See you in May!
