Meet Jeff Fisher, a Solutions Architect in the West region. Jeff plays a key role in supporting Account Managers and customers with technical expertise—especially in hybrid data center solutions. His collaborative spirit, deep industry knowledge, and commitment to customer success make him vital to GDT’s mission to deliver innovative, revenue-driving solutions.
How long have you been with GDT, and what does your role entail?
Jeff: I have been here since 2007 and was part of the IAS acquisition in 2020. I am a Solutions Architect in the West, so I support many of the West’s Account Managers (like Jesse, Dan, Karin, Angelo, and Bob). I am essentially a technical resource and support our account managers and customers. I am a jack of all trades but mostly work with the hybrid data center team.
Can you describe your team, their role at GDT, and the team’s dynamics?
Jeff: I am part of the West group, which is the smallest solution architect team at GDT. Because of our size, we lean on resources from other regions. Our team’s goal is to stay dynamic and collaborate. We keep everyone in constant communication, and we put our heads down to work together and deliver whatever the customer needs.
What goals or initiatives has your team focused on in 2025, and how do they support GDT’s broader mission?
Jeff: Solution Architects are technical partners for customers and for GDT’s account managers. We help account managers uncover opportunities and find places where we can drive revenue.
Essentially, we help customers identify where they need help, then design and build solutions to meet their goals. It’s a collaborative effort to meet our customers’ needs. For example, we’ve had opportunities for customers interested in our networking services, where we bring in people from the Professional services team and the delivery team and collaborate on the best customer solution.

What’s a recent win—big or small—that made you proud ?
Jeff: I will go through a few that I am proud of with each Account Manager. With Jesse, we won some great opportunities selling Cisco compute and networking. That was a really good win because it helped expand my working opportunities with our partner Cisco.
With Karin, I’ve been supporting her for the last couple of years now, and we do everything related to our partner NetApp. We recently did a large refresh and expansion for a customer on the NetApp side.
With Angelo, we have done a lot of work with a client focused on Juniper (another partner) services and product services. We continue to land and expand with another one of his customers, where we did a full data center refresh.
Finally, Dan Martin is a rockstar working with our partner Nvidia! I feel privileged to be a part of it all and to work with the different Account Managers and their different requirements.
Who or what inspires you in your career?
Jeff: My dad instilled the virtues and values that make me who I am. He taught me the importance of keeping your word ,and I grew up in the restaurant business with him. He was the owner, and I ended up partnering with him on it.
Another person who gave me guidance is Michael Shattuck. He was a friend and apostle who advised, stood up for truth and rightness, and taught me so much. Finally, of course, God, my wife Carmen, my kids, and my grandkids sustain me and help me be all I can be.
What’s one professional goal you’re currently working toward?
Jeff: There is a big thing out there called AI. Everything in technology is focused on AI, so I am really focusing in on it as well. AI infrastructure is the same; it’s still computers and networks but built on a different application. Security is something that I try to stay up on.
What’s your favorite GDT core value, and how do you see it in action?
Jeff: I don’t have one favorite; I think they are all important and something we should try to live by. I like working with others and collaborating. Accountability is something that we all need. Celebrating success is great because I like to be successful. Finally, we need transparency because we don’t want to be in the dark. I think that it is important to be accountable and transparent, and we can be successful through collaboration.

If you won the lottery, what’s the first thing you’d do with the money?
Jeff: First, I would be dancing and celebrating. Next, I would be dispersing money to missions, churches, and orphanages around the world. After that, I would pay off the house and bless my kids. I think we would take a big family vacation, too!
Tell us more about yourself outside of work. What are your hobbies and interests?
Jeff: Outside of work, I like cars and trucks. I used to race and ride motorcycles, but now I am more of an onlooker. I also like shooting long guns or handguns. I love movies and date nights with my wife. God is also a big part of my life, and we like to attend different services around the world (virtually). Finally, I spend time with my family: my wife, four daughters, and six grandkids!
